Stars Pay Tribute To Les Paul |
|
|
|
November 20, 2009 - Last night a host of stars gathered at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium to celebrate the life and legacy of acclaimed guitar
player, entertainer and inventor Les Paul. Wynonna Judd took the stage to salute Paul with a rendition of "Ain't No Sunshine," while John Rich honored Les with an original
song that Rich thought he would have enjoyed. Charlie Daniels brought down the house with a smokin' performance of "Further On Up The Road," assisted by Lee Roy Parnell.
Other artists who played represented a vast spectrum of musical genres in a display that truly depicted how influential Paul was throughout
the years. They included Les' godson Steve Miller, Emerson Drive, JD Souther, Steve Cropper, Zakk Wylde, Jennifer Batten, Sarah Partridge and Anna Wilson.
In addition to the musical performances, Lou Pallo of the Les Paul Trio shared personal stories about his experiences with Les. Some of the highlights included video testimonials
from Slash, Billy Gibbons, Richie Sambora, Sammy Hagar and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
